There’s something about best friends-to-lovers that gets me every time and Juniper and Linden’s story absolutely delivered.
These two have been woven into each other’s lives for years, through music, heartbreak, loss and dreams that didn’t quite go to plan. When Juniper finally hits breaking point and escapes back to Blackwood Valley, she finds herself right where she needs to be, with Linden, the one person who has always felt like home and his gorgeous niece Coco.
I loved the quiet yearning between these two. The friendship, the history, the little moments, the way Linden gives Juniper exactly what she needs without ever asking for more, it all made their romance feel so natural. The chemistry between them was so good!
But this story is about more than romance. Grief, burnout, family, healing and finding your way back to yourself are beautifully woven through the story, alongside plenty of music, banter, tenderness and swoony moments. I especially loved the cosy, almost domestic feel of Juniper, Linden and Coco together.
A gorgeous addition to the Blackwood Valley series and one that left my heart feeling very full. If you love small town romance, childhood friends-to-lovers, mutual pining, found family and an emotional journey with plenty of heat, definitely add this one to your TBR.
And yes, I am already very curious about book four!

Here’s the synopsis
When the stage lights burn, there’s only one place to run.
Juniper Hawthorne is a star. She’s worked hard to get there, but it’s come at a cost. With her most successful tour to date wrapped up, she’s ready to slow down and start making music from the heart – staving off the looming crash of burnout would be good, too.
Linden Marxx said goodbye to his musical dreams the day his sister died. Since then, he’s thrown himself into raising his niece and being Juniper’s number one cheerleader. The time apart might be heartbreaking, but his best friend was born to be on stage.
When Juniper’s new manager pushes her into another gruelling tour, the burnout she’s been trying to outrun comes down hard and fast. So she does the only thing that makes sense: retreats to the safety of home, and her best friend.
But in such close proximity – and with lines of their friendship blurring – they’re forced to confront the things they left behind, and the grief they’ve been running from.
As the reality of her tour approaches, can they hold onto this new dream, or is it another thing they’ll lose?
