Give and Take by Claire Wilder is an age gap, grumpy sunshine romance where Raph is the sunshine and Lana is the older woman.
While he is finishing up his doctorate in English Lit Raph takes a summer job as a nanny for Lana’s two daughters. At first Lana thinks he’s little more than a flirt but there’s definitely more to him than meets the eye.
Lana is a single parent raising two lively daughters while trying to ignore the feelings developing between her and Raph. Lana knows Raph plans to leave at the end of summer so she’s trying to protect her girls as well as her own heart.
Raph is a swoon worthy book boyfriend who is charming, thoughtful and supports Lana without being overbearing. While he is instantly attracted to Lana he takes the time to find out who she is and what’s she’s really like.
I really enjoyed this reverse age gap love story and found the slow burn romance to be so satisfying. I enjoyed how the story unfolded and found the characters engaging and relatable. I will definitely be reading more books in this series!

Here’s the synopsis
I’m turning 41.
He’s 26.
I’m a serious person.
He’s fun-loving and carefree.
It’s all wrong. But every time Raphael LaForest looks at me, it feels so, so right. Just a glance and my whole body melts. The simple brush of his hand on mine and every last nerve ending is on fire.
But that’s not all. Raph makes me think. He makes me laugh. He listens to me, and he makes me feel beautiful and desirable in a way my ex-husband never did.
He awakens feelings in me I never thought I was capable of having.
But our age isn’t the only complication. Raph’s also the nanny to my two little girls. He’s leaving at the end of the summer. And my feelings for him are rapidly tumbling into a dangerous place.
One that looks and feels an awful lot like love.
I can’t burden this man with the complication of us. My world is small. My life is set. Raph has his whole life ahead of him. The world waiting for him to explore.
He can’t stay with me. I won’t let him.
I just need Raph—and my heart—to fall in line.
