Someone You Deserve is the second book in the Carrington Cove series and is Astrid and Penn’s story.
Astrid and Penn have been friends forever, having both grown up in Carrington Cove. Astrid is a widowed mother of two children and her husband, who died on deployment, was Penn’s best friend.
Four years after her husband’s death Astrid has a lot going on. She is trying to start a business, raise a family, and ignore any feelings she has for Penn because she’s worried about what people would think and she doesn’t want to lose Penn’s friendship if things don’t work out.
Penn is an absolute sweetheart! He’s so supportive of Astrid and has taken on a father figure role for the kids while also trying to decide where his future lies. I really liked Penn’s character, he’s thoughtful and is definitely one of the good guys.
The story also includes some small town gossip and complications that exist mostly in their own heads, which they need to overcome to find happiness together.
I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait to read the next instalment when it’s released.
